Local Development Directors

Each county is covered by a local or regional economic development agency whose director is knowledgeable about conditions in your area. Check out this county list to find the one closest to you.

WV Small Business Development Centers

The WV Small Business Development Centers have small business coaches available on a regional basis to assist people with starting and expanding small businesses.

WVU and WV State University Extension

Extension services have agents specializing in community economic development placed regionally around the state who are great resources on many topics. To find out the agents in your area, be sure and check out both WVU and WV State

The WV Community Development Hub

The Hub helps individuals, organizations, and communities look at their futures in new ways, often through the development of community action teams. Sign up for the Community Development Network newsletter and attend some gatherings to learn how other West Virginians are building a brighter future. 

Vision Shared

Vision Shared is a network of volunteers focused on entrepreneurship, education, workforce development, and research and commercialization. The group is dedicated to “charting a new course” for the Mountain State’s economy.
